Hi, I'm Sofia and this summer I had to read a lot of books. Like, A LOT. And with a lot I mean twelve. I know, right? They are so manyyy.
Now I'll quit complaining and I'll start with a brutally honest review of every book I've read.
I'll rate them on a scale from 0 to 5. Let's go!
This is the best book I've read all Summer. It's about two black twins with very light skin. One day they run away. Stella tries to pass as white, meanwhile Desiree marries a dark skinned man and has a daughter. One day Desiree's daughter meets Stella and, well... you'll see. Amazing, show-stopping, spectacular. The ending felt kinda out of place, but overall I loved it.

THE VANISHING HALF by BRIT BENNETT 5/5
This is the best book I've read all Summer. It's about two black twins with very light skin. One day they run away. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by HARPER LEE 3.5/5
This is a classic, where a lawyer is assisting a black man accused of rape. It has awesome messages, but I didn't expect it to be from the lawyer's daughter POV. The first half was boring, but then it got better.
A FAREWELL TO ARMS by ERNEST HEMINGWAY 3/5
It talks about an American ambulance driver on the Italian front during the war. It was so slow, then the last part; the actually good one, was very fast paced.
ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE by GABRIEL GARCÍA MÁRQUEZ 0.5/5
OMG. So boring and way too long. It followed the many generations of the Buendía family. The thing is, it talked about one character's story until he or she did something bad/died, and then it talked about somebody else until he or she did something bad/died. It was just tiring.
THE METAMORPHOSIS by FRANZ KAFKA 2/5
A middle aged man wakes up one day and he's turned into a cockroach. It was very depressing. At least it's a short book.
REUNION by FRED UHLMAN 2/5
A Jewish kid befriends a rich kid from a Nazi family at school, but then World War II happens. Again, depressing, but short.
THE PSYCHOPATHOLOGY OF EVERYDAY LIFE by SIGMUND FREUD 1/5
I mean, it talked about some interesting things. In the first ten pages. The rest was all examples or slight variations of the same problem; which is forgetting something or saying a different word instead of what you wanted to say.
10 SHORT STORIES by LUIGI PIRANDELLO 2/5
I can't stay here to describe each story. In the end, they all have Pirandello's style, which is pretty weird. Every ending left me confused.
SHORT STORIES by GIOVANNI VERGA 2.5/5
Many of these stories dealt with farmers who sometimes are in love. Slightly better than Pirandello just because I understood them more.
