Hi everybody! This is the second part of the three-part story Lost Friends. If you haven't read part one yet, you can do it by clicking here.

Now let's get onto part two!

Natalie and Carol hugged and held tight onto each other.

"Call me the second you land, okay?" Natalie whispered in her friend's hears.

"Of course, Nat. And remember to send me pictures of your dorm room." The two friends were at the airport and they just couldn't let go. When they finally did they were both crying.

"Will you come visit me in New York?" asked Natalie, wiping her tears. Carol hugged her arms.

"Uhm... New York is on the other side of the country. I... I don't have enough money to go there." her friend looked down.

"I haven't thought about that... I can't come visit you either. It's too expensive." they exchanged a quick look. Then they tried to smile.

"I'll call you." said Carol. Nat nodded.

"We'll keep in touch."

Carol was twenty-seven and she saw a familiar flower printed hijab
. She was in New York to visit her boyfriend's parents and she was going to the airport to go back to Los Angeles. She ran to reach the person wearing the hijab, praying that she wasn't mistaking her. She patted her shoulder and encountered a familiar pair of hazel eyes.

"Natalie!" she exclaimed.

"Carol!" her old friend hugged her. "What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in forever!" Carol looked at her watch. She had some time before she had to be at the airport.

"Do you want to get a coffee? I'm leaving today, but I'd love to catch up with you. It's been so long."

They sat down at the café and Carol started talking. She was so happy to see her again! They had stopped talking around the beginning of their second years at college. They had gradually stopped calling, sent less and less messages... until they had almost forgotten each other. But they were there right now.

"And so tomorrow is our two year anniversary." Carol finished her story and sighed. "And you? How's your life here?"

"Well, I..." she waved her hand, on which she had a golden ring. Carol's mouth opened wide.

"What?! You're married? Oh my God, this is so cool! I want to meet him!" she stood up, but then she looked at the café's clock and she jumped.

"I'm going to lose my flight! I need to go right now!" she glanced down at the empty coffee mugs and she put her hand in her bag trying to find her wallet. "How much was it?" Natalie put her hand on her arm.

"Nonsense. This is on me. I'll go pay, you write down your new phone number on..." she took a napkin from under her mug. "...this!" she hugged her friend. "Quick! I'll talk to you soon!"
