Two books at a time

We all know that feeling. You're reading an awesome book, a book that YOU chose to read and then... one of your professors decides that it's time for you to read one of those boring books THEY want you to read.

And so they assign you a reading and you have to stop reading the other book, which was so much better.

Or do you?

Today I'll give you some tips on how you can read two books at a time (without going crazy). (Hopefully).

Try reading them in two different locations. Maybe read the school book at your desk and the good one on your bed. This will help you get in the mood and keep track of the book you're reading.

This tip might not work for every situation, but, if you have a choice, try reading the two books in two different languages. For example I was reading one in English and my professor assigned me one in Italian.

This helps you not mix up the plots, since reading the stories in different languages differentiates them even more.

Try reading the books in two different parts of the day, like afternoon & night, or morning & afternoon, or... well, you get it.

My personal tip is to read the book you have for school earlier, so you'll have more brain power to dedicate to it and you'll be able to relax with the good one later in the day.

Okay, I know. I just spent this entire telling you ways to read two books at a time and now I'm telling you not to do it? I know it sounds weird, but hear me out.

I did this. Many times. And it's a big mess. The tips I gave you do work, but my final and best tip is to not do it. I know you want to read the book you were reading. I did to. But you're not gonna enjoy neither of the books if you read them at the same time.

Ultimately I can't really tell you what to do; I'm just a stranger on the Internet, but if you're gonna take anything away from this article, make it this: don't read two books at a time, it will do more bad than good.
