BAD NEWS
An UN summit that is going to be held in New York next month will warn governments that the destruction of forests we are seeing in these years will pose a huge threat not only to biodiversity and animal species, but also to humans.
Scientists have found a strong link between environmental destruction and the emergence of deadly new diseases (like Covid-19). So basically, the destruction of forests will unleash new pandemics.
GOOD NEWS
I admit I still haven't downloaded TikTok, but apparently a new trend is becoming popular on the app. The number of teens making videos about environmental issues is increasing and it's so cool!
A lot of people our age are learning (and also teaching in some cases) about biodiversity, plantations etc in a group of the app called "grass TikTok". It's important to discuss these topics on platforms like this one, because that's where all the teens are!
