It isn't as bad as you think. Or maybe it is.

Another week has passed and we're back with the climate updates! This is "Let's balance out" and you'll read one good news and one bad news about the climate crisis. Shall we begin?

So what do you want first? The good news or the bad news?
BAD NEWS

Like pretty much every aspect of life, the climate crisis puts at risk also major sports events. Heatwaves, fires, floods and rising sea levels will affect sports like football, tennis, athletics, golf and basically all the open air sports.
One must not underestimate the global carbon emissions of sport, which are equal to the ones of a medium sized country.

"Sport provides some of society's most influential role models. If sport can change how it operates to act at the speed and scale necessary to halt the climate emergency, others will follow."

GOOD NEWS

During the Covid lockdown, some shops temporarily forbid to use personal reusable containers/cups for hygienic reasons. In general we saw how the single use products were far more popular in the last 3 months.

Well, now 119 scientists (epidemiologists, virologists, biologists, chemists and doctors) from 18 different countries signed a statement saying that it's safe to start using again reusable items, as they do not increase the chance of coronavirus transmission.
