BAD NEWS
Apparently in the US now heat causes more deaths than natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and floods.
Here you can find an article telling some stories of people who died from eccessive heat, and the investigation underlines how this was caused by years of underfunding, limited expertise and political resistance to a climate program aimed at helping people to face crisis of extreme heat.
GOOD NEWS
Based on the work of Akira Miyawaki, who planted more than 1000 tiny forests in Japan and Malaysia, now Europe has picked up the trend too and is planting small forests like those all over the place.
On The Guardian you can read that these forests "grow 10 times faster and become 30 times denser and 100 times more biodiverse than those planted by conventional methods". And the aim is of course to help the planet!
