BAD NEWS
A study shows that the human cost of the climate crisis will hit harder, sooner and on a wider scale than believed. The risk is around one billion people being displaced or having to suffer unbearable heat.
In the worst case scenario, areas that are now home to a third of the world population will be as hot as the hottest parts of Sahara within 50 years.
