Good Witch

My name's Sofia and I love tv series and magic!

Today I'm here to talk about a beautiful and cozy tv series called "Good Witch" which is perfect for this time of year!
It's very... autumnal and calm.

The first thing you need to know is that this tv series is produced by the Hallmark Channel, which is responsible for many cheesy and cute Christmas movies.

"Good Witch" is the extension of a series of movies focussing on the good witch Cassie Nightingale. She doesn't wear a pointed hat and flies on a broom, but she knows things. For example, she always knows who's the person that enters a room behind her, without looking. She always knows what's going to happen to somebody and knows exactly the right thing to say or the right thing to give to someone. She has a shop called "Bell, Book & Candle" where she sells many different and unique things.

The movies are about her life as the second wife of a firefighter, but I personally prefer the tv series, because it has Grace in it! Grace is Cassie's daughter and she inherited her good witch powers, but, meanwhile Cassie is almost always poised and mature, Grace is around my age (which means she's around YOUR age too!) and she still has a lot to learn. It's amazing seeing her grow!

A big part of this tv series, which you can find on Netflix btw, is the town it's set in: Middleton. This is a little town where everyone knows everyone and, like many towns inhabited by at least one witch, it's obsessed with Halloween.

As somebody who has grown up in a big city, I romanticize the idea of a small town so much, because we always want what we can't have, don't we? Even though I'm sure I'd get bored if I ever lived in a little town for more than a few months, I'd be ready to bet I'd have the time of my life in Middleton. The first thing I'd do would be to go to Cassie and ask her to teach me how to be a good witch! Then I'd befriend Grace, of course.

The tv series begins with the arrival of Doctor Sam Radford and his son Nick, who go live next door to Cassie and Grace, who live in a big house called Gray House, which doubles as a Bed&Breakfast. At first they are skeptical of Cassie's methods, but, with time, they start becoming friends.

First of all, I recommend you start by watching the movies. I mean, they aren't so essential, but it's fun to see some sort of prequel to the tv series. Also, you should watch it because it's the tv series equivalent of sitting in bed under a warm cover, drinking some kind of hot autumnal beverage (depending on who you are, it could be coffee, tea, or hot chocolate), while outside is raining or snowing. It's so cozy and cute, but it also contains some good and important life lessons.
