Good news: apps to save food

Did you know that 40% of the food that is produced every year in the world is not eaten? And once it's thrown away, it's a huge source of greenhouse gases. Also for this reason, fighting food waste is very important for the environment. To do this, you can use very simple applications that help you literally save food.

The most famous is Too Good To Go, an app that shows you which places are near you that have leftover things to eat at the end of the day, and allows you to buy them at a very low price because otherwise they would be thrown away. There's also Flashfood, with which you can buy expiring food from supermarkets near you. Read more in this article by The Guardian!

Bad news: COP27, good but not great

As you have surely read, COP27, the United Nations conference on climate change, ended a while ago. Even if an agreement has been reached that says rich countries will have to compensate economically the poorest ones who are most affected by the climate crisis, this is not enough.

In fact, a major commitment to eliminate fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions is missing. For more information, you can read this article from the BBC.
