Hello nerdy and non-nerdy friends!

I'm Sofia, your local book lover. One of my favourite parts of books, especially fantasy books, is The Aftermath. *Dramatic music* The moment after a battle.

There are two types of aftermaths, and today I'll make you fall in love with them.

THE "CALM BEFORE THE STORM" AFTERMATH

This moment in the book comes after a big battle (but not the great final battle). Usually the characters go stay in a relatively safe place (like an abandoned hotel) and take care of their wounded and their dead friends and allies.

Something so cool about this aftermath (and also heart wrenching) is the fact that many characters choose this very moment to confess their feelings for other characters, just to die in the final fight. So sad, but so poetic.

In this type of aftermath we can see the characters starting to break, finding comfort in one another, preparing themselves for the final battle. And, speaking of it...

THE FINAL AFTERMATH

Now this is cool. And tragic. It normally comes at the end of the book and it either ties all loose ends (if the book is any good) or it sets us up for the next book. The characters can finally mourn the friends who sacrificed themselves and died in the battle. They can rebuild their city, their country, their home. It's very beautiful.

Now, in my article about the best book trope, I gave you some book recommendations that have that trope in them. In this case giving you recommendations would spoil the entire book. If you want to read some good aftermaths, I suggest you read fantasy books. And, of course, since Percy Jackson is the best fantasy series, you should read that too.

This is all folks!
