We already know plastics and microplastics pollute the planet. We have talked about those you can find in the oceans, but they're also in the Arctic snow and Alpine soil.
It is now clear microplastic
can be found in our body, as researches have found traces of them in human organs
through a method that allows to discover dozens of types of plastic.
The consequences of it being in our system are not clear yet, but they are there.
The Australian company Thankyou permanently stopped the production of its bottled water
. It was the company's funding product, even though they later moved onto hand wash, lotions and baby products.
The company uses the profits to fund projects in developing countries, and the selling of bottled water raised more than 1m dollars
to fund clean-water projects in those countries.
Daniel Flynn, managing director and cofounder of the company, said that he hopes this act sends a message
to other brands and that selling bottled water in Australia, where tap water is perfectly good to drink, doesn't make sense
